I believe that you can spend more than one vacation to explore the Gros Morne National Park, It has become a "World Heritage Site" and includes several unique villages.
We visited it during all of our trips. The first time in March and the second and third time in June.
Elizabeth always wanted to hike at least one of the trails but I would not be able to accompany her - both of my knees are worn out.
Finally, during our last trip she went on a less dangerous hike to the Western Brook Pond. Many people did that and she must not be afraid to meet a bear.

The pond is really a pond with no connection to the sea. I was told that the boats which are used there were carried in bits and pieces by helicopters to this pond and assembled there.
We had to book her trip in the "Ocean View Hotel" in Rocky Harbour. The boat tours started at 10:00 AM and were only offered between June 1. and October 15.
Here I made a one time learning experience - an unfriendly woman. Maybe she had a bad day and took it out on us or business was too good and she did not see a need to be friendly. Naturally, we ignored the motel and stayed in a B & B which we already knew.

Getting ready for a long walk of about 40 minutes

I hoped she does not start feeling cold dressed like that
Elizabeth loves to walk despite the fact that she has also a bad knee caused by n accident many years ago.
When we lived for one year in Zorneding, Germany we joined an international walking club and had lots of fun.
I was a little bit afraid that she will not only hike the trail to the pond but in addition also some of the other ones which are offered.
She was a good girl and did not do that and returned almost in time. She took my old digital camera with her to bring back many pictures of this expedition.
She took many pictures but did not see any moose or caribous. They all were hiding.
The head which she is wearing was a gift from the Newfoundland government.

The destination

Smart globetrotters from Florida

Sunshine

I got so far - then I returned...

... and it got dark again

I watched Elizabeth leaving with a group of hikers. Then I decided not to wait here for her return. I drove to Broom Point to learn there something about lobster fishing. No extensive walking was required to do that!
I knew that the boat tour itself would take about two hours so I knew roughly when I should be back.
