Why advertise in German with us?
German is spoken in a substantial part of Western Europe. It is not only the official language in Germany and Austria, but also in parts of Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Northern Italy and parts of several other countries.
Many people in Eastern Europe are learning or are still speaking German.
Canada and Germany have excellent trade relations and many German companies have invested in Canada and vice versa. However, these relations can still be improved.
It is good business practice, in the tourism industry or export business, to approach foreigners in their mother tongue. If you hope to successfully approach Germans in English - please think again - it will not work well!
For decades English has been taught in German schools as the number one foreign language, but most people do not have enough practice to use it fluently.
The paid vacations in Europe exceed those in North America and people love to travel despite the world-wide recession.
Canada and especially Ontario are still very unknown to most Europeans.
Our German language travel guides should help to fill this gap. We do not believe that the concept and content of many Canadian web sites, namely just listing accommodations and restaurants, will attract visitors. We try to attract people with our travel guides by providing appealing pictures, interesting videos and valuable information not generally found in ordinary travel guides.
We have invested a lot of time and money to create our German language Internet tourist guides, mostly without any Canadian support (one notable exception: Newfoundland-Labrador).
We consider our Internet tourist guides for Ontario and Newfoundland-Labrador as essential pre-requisites for successful advertising by Canadian tourism businesses to attract potential visitors to our country and its natural wonders. We are continuously adding places, events and attractions which are of interest to tourists.
Having lived and worked most of my life in Germany makes me better qualified to approach Europeans - certainly better than somebody who has never visited Europe. Germans are different from Americans and have other priorities when visiting Canada.
We would love to add other provinces to our collection of travel guides. Unfortunately, we are still trying very hard to get the support and commitment from many provinces and territories. Newfoundland helped us with good advice, pictures and an informative buiness dinner in St. John's. Thank you!
A number of our pages are available in German as well as in English. Our portfolios do not show all of our web sites. Most of them are linked to our tourist guides.
We love to work with small business. People in Europe are also watching their money and are thankful for honest advise where to stay, where to eat and what to do. We gladly help you to meet the expectations of German visitors with your web site. Who else offers that?
Another very important group which might want to consider using our services are business development corporations. They seem to concentrate most of their efforts on the United States to attract business and visitors. Instead of finding excuses for the declining tourism business and the many US companies that are moving back, they should look across to Europe. Just check how much new business has sprung up in your area from Europe and from which countries exactly it came. Please also check which businesses have left.
I came with a German company to Fort Erie and we shared our experience with other companies which made the same move a little bit later.
Because of our tourist guides, we have received a few requests from business people who wanted to know more about establishing a business here. I could never follow up because how much can I do for free, with no support and obviously no interest from the responsible parties?
