Overview of the Tourism Region 8: Kawarthas Northumberland
This "limitless" map of Google allows a better overview
In this tourist region you will find many interesting places and places that invite you to adventure tours. With our internet guide we try to give a small overview within our very limited possibilities. Help us to fill in the remaining gaps.
Since we've already told you that Ontario alone is about 3 times the size of Germany and has about the same population as Bavaria, it will come as no surprise to you that as you move northwards, the density of population is rapidly decreasing ,
For this reason we select a city or a place and describe it, as well as the closer or further surroundings.
Since I do everything myself without being paid I also use all the free help from Google, Trip Advisor and the countless donors who have uploaded videos on YouTube. Not doing this would be stupidity. But I would like to thank everyone for their help.
But I apologize now to all the communities, places and attractions that I have not yet included. We have to travel more, but we need your support in the form of orders for advertising. Without financial help, this is very slow. In addition, my wife Elizabeth became seriously ill, which currently does not allow her to travel.
In the past, we often had to combine our travels with business travel and could not choose the best season for it. The result was that many of the attractions were closed. This happened also to some of our visitors. This is mostly concealed in all official publications.

One more note: If you are coming from Toronto, the Highway 401 is often overburdened. There are also relatively many accidents, especially with the big trucks. So be careful!
If your goal is not to cover as many kilometers as possible in a given time, you should leave it often so you can see more of the land or not even use it.
You can switch to Highway 2. We do that quite often!

Also, an old Canadian cemetery (near Peterborough) can be worth seeing
The "Rice Lake" - watch the YouTube Video below!
You see the "Rice Lake" in the background. We did not want to visit in a partly rainy evening and pay for one more night.
The lake is part of the "Trent-Severn Waterway" which we still want to visit. Unfortunately, our Internet guides do not provide enough revenue to finance such pleasure trips. We did also not receive any response from a resort on this lake. We had some questions that were not answered in their website. For that reason we preferred to travel to Newfoundland and Thuringia in Germany and put Ontario for that time on a back burner.
Many thanks for this picture from the "Rice Lake" to "Northumberland Tourism"
On your tour of this tourism region you will often find yourself on the "Trent-Severn Waterway", as here in Peterborough. The locks are always worth seeing.
Check for shorter boat tours.
Watch the YouTube videos I've put in everywhere.

Explore the north of this tourism area beyond what we show. Tell us about your experience via email, attach images that we are allowed to use. Thank you in advance.
