Tweed in tourism region: "Haliburton Highlands to the Ottawa Valley"
Our last visit of Tweed was on business to Perth.
We were greeted by a nice sign and parked at the "Beachwood Hollow Resort" which is located on the west shore of the "Stoco Lake"..
Tweed is a small, peaceful town on "Lake Stoco" and the "Moira River". Tweed has about 6000 inhabitants.
We strolled around a loved it here. Because we were on a tough schedule, we did not check any details of the resort and the cottages they offer, but it is certainly a place which I would consider to stay to explore the town and its surroundings.
We had some short cottage vacation in Callander and loved it.
Tweed, a friendly, well-kept place
I am always happy when I see a village or town which is kept clean. When I came from Germany, I was shocked at the beginning how careless some people are. We live in the "Niagara Region "and every morning we could pick up garbage in front of our house.
In Tweed we talked to a very friendly volunteer who was do some gardening. She even was using her own truck and was very happy when we told her that appreciate the good work she was doing. This kind of volunteers is something which I missed in Germany.
I was surprised when I used the public washroom - even that was extremely clean. Because of these first good impressions of Tweed I added it to our Internet travel guide and I hope that we can come back to stay here for a few days.
I was told that many artists come also to this pretty village to get inspirations for their work.
The park and the resort a located directly on the lake
The park is located directly on "Lake Stoco" See
"Lake Stoco Lake"
The "Stoco Lake" is an essential part of the so-called "Moira River System". Of course a draw for fishermen and those who love the water.
Der "Stoco Lake" ist ein wesentlicher Teil von dem sogenannten "Moira River System". Natürlich wider ein Anziehungspunkt für Fischer und alle die das Wasser lieben.

I always appreciate places especially when they are not "decorated" like in above picture with a tangle of electric cables. I saw something like this for the first time in Japan.
In Japan that makes good sense because of the many earthquakes. In Ontario, on the other side, electricity often fails due to a storm or ice built up in winter.
For a long time, Tweed was proud to have the smallest museum in Ontario. It had a size of 4.9 m x 6.1 m.
Although the claim to have the smallest museum was quickly invalidated. It still remains a really small attraction.
We did not see the museum and I do not have a picture that I was allowed to use.
